A. Absolutely! WebCenturion can link into almost any legacy security system. Q. I now have security systems that I don't have to pay a monthly fee for. Why should I pay one now, no matter how reasonable it is? A. Your present system is static in nature. By the time you get around to viewing the tapes, the information is days or even weeks old. In other words, the damage is already done. WebCenturion allows you to monitor your business dynamically, in real time. This gives you the ability to react to any threats to the health of your business proactively; "nip it in the bud" so to speak. Isn't this ability to actively protect your business assets from thousands of dollars in damages worth a small monthly fee? Q. What type of security do you offer? A. WebCenturion offers three distinct levels of security to maximize the peace of mind of our customers: Realm Protection - Each WebCenturion monitoring page is protected by it's own, individual realm. Without the proper password(s), it is virtually impossible to even get to the second level of security. Unit Security - Each individual monitoring unit has it's own, internal security system. Without the proper codes, the image stream will not even appear. Encryption Security - All monitoring pages are protected by 128 bit encryption. This is the highest encryption level allowed by federal law. This is the same level of encryption that credit card companies utilize to protect their customers from online fraud. Q. What is the average turnaround time? A. For self-installations, it usually takes no more than one week after the order is received. More complicated installations requiring professionals may take a bit longer. Q. How long has your company been in business? A. WebCenturion has existed since 1999. Formerly under the name WebSentinel, a management change brought a new name. Q. What type of monitoring units do you use? A. We utilize self-contained monitoring units. By that we mean that our units require no separate computer to operate them. These units are same that are used by law enforcement agencies across the U.S. Q. Do you provide these technologies? A. Yes, all of these technologies/components are provided with your WebCenturion contract. Q. I am sick of having to use videotapes to record what goes on at my convenience stores. I have had problems with tapes breaking, being lost or even being stolen. Does WebCenturion have a solution for me? A. Of course we do! WebCenturion offers Digital Image Archiving to its clientele. Via internet browser, you can just go to your private archive site, click on the time & date information and up comes exactly what was going on at the site at the time and date given. Q. How long do you keep the images ? A. The images stay on the server for roughly three days. After that point , they are, starting with the oldest image, automatically overwritten. Q. Can I search for captured events from individual cameras? A. Yes. Any unit that has been designated for Digital Image Archiving can have it's images searched. Q. Do I need buy my own computer to install WebCenturion? A. No. WebCenturion is a completely self-contained unit. All you need is a broadband internet connection (static IP address) and internet access to monitor your site. When you get your system, it has already been pre-configured to work on the WebCenturion network. All you do is plug it in. For more involved installations (outdoor, multiunit, etc.), WebCenturion can provide expert installation to you. Q. What is an static IP address? A. Every computer with Internet access is given an individual Internet Protocol (IP) address, similar to a telephone number or a social security number for that computer. An IP address can be either static (always the same) or dynamic (each time you log onto the internet, a new address is assigned). Q. What other software do I need on my monitoring PC? A. None.
